Hockey Wilderness Podcast- A Minnesota Wild Podcast (sports)

On this week's podcast, Tony, Joe, and Aaron sat down immediately after Minnesota's victory over the St. Louis Blues. They covered a lot in a short amount of time, including:

  • First impressions of new Wild player Chris Porter
  • The lunacy of sending down Jordan Schroeder
  • Zach Parise changing the Wild-Avs game
  • Charlie Coyle going into beast mode
  • Ryan Suter's lighter workload
  • The Wild's Special Teams celebrating "Opposite Day"
  • Players that have looked good early
  • The various awards the podcast has apparently won

You can subscribe to the podcast on either iTunes or Stitcher Radio, your choice. While there, please leave us a review. It's a great way for us to grow the show, and we enjoy hearing your feedback. The Hockey Wilderness Podcast is back from the Wild's Prospect Development Camp! Joe and Tony are joined by Friend of the Show™ Tony Dean of Hockey Buzz for a fun discussion of the two Prospect Scrimmages, including:

*Mike Reilly’s debut in a Wild uniform- will he make the Wild?

*Joel Eriksson Ek making a good first impression

*Jordan Greenway’s size and skill

*The Wild’s very good defensive depth

*Reid Duke: Goal Scoring Machine

*And of course, the #TuchWalk

Plus, we ask Tony about the difficulties surrounding his being the father of a new-born (a very healthy Derek Anthony Dean), awkwardly meeting prospects at Burger Moe’s, and more!

  • Is this the end of the line for Ken Hitchcock?

  • What does a Blues fan think of the Wild now?
  • Did the Blues dominate the series?
  • Who stepped up big for the Wild?

Topics we discuss:

*Mario Lucia: Will he sign? How good is he?

*Alex Tuch: Was he the BPA at this year’s draft?

*Louie Belpedio’s awesome play

*Why doesn’t anyone talk about John Draeger?

*Matt Dumba’s evolution

*What is character, and why is it important?

*Werner Herzog eating his shoe, and similar acts

*Michael Cera Movies

And a ton more.

Hockey Dubnyk In Minnesota

Tony, Joe, and Chris get you with all you need to know about the most recent shake-up with the Minnesota Wild, the Devan Dubnyk trade. How has he looked so far? Is Dubnyk a potential long-term solution for the Minnesota Wild? Does this mean we’ve seen the last of Niklas Backstrom?

After discussing Dubnyk, the crew turns their attention towards the playoff picture. The Wild will need to pass 4 teams in the standings in order to make the playoffs. Can they do it? Which teams are most vulnerable to falter down the stretch?

Finally, the gang closes out the show by talking defense, defense, defense. How did Matt Dumba look upon returning to the big club? What do we think of the fight he had in Buffalo? And why on Earth is Ryan Suter playing so many more minutes than anyone else on the team?

That, and some fun nonsense await you in this episode of the Hockey Wilderness Podcast. We’re also announcing a new way to interact with the show- The Hot Take Line. Call (218) 348-1002 to leave a voicemail with questions or comments about the Wild, and you may have your call played on the show!
