Haven’t scoured over the scouting reports quite yet? Fret not! Hockey Wilderness is giving you a crash course of just about everyone we think the Wild might pick with the 20th pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Joining Tony, Joe, and Chris today is Tiffany, Hockey Wilderness’ prospect writer. With her help, the gang breaks down more than 15 prospects, including:
Paul Bittner (A Minnesotan!)
Brock Boeser (Another Minnesotan!)
Joel Eriksson Ek
Who should the Wild take? Who should the Wild avoid? When should the Wild take a goalie? Can the guys come up with a single good pop-culture reference? Find out these things- and more- on the podcast!

After a lengthy absence (Sorry, everyone!) Joe, Aaron, Chris, and Tony sat down to talk about the happenings with the Wild lately. They discuss the newest goalie debacles, with Dubnyk and the Wild not close in their negotiations and Niklas Backstrom undergoing surgery that could prevent the Wild buying him out. Then they talk about the Jared Spurgeon trade rumors. And finally, they talk about the discussion surrounding Hockey Wilderness’ pick in the SB Nation Mock Draft. We recorded before the Matt Cooke buyout was initiated, but you can bet we'll discuss it next week.
In addition, there’s a Healthy Living segment, some details of our Superior, WI-based draft party, and more!

Sure, sure, the Wild got swept. But that’s not going to get the Hockey Wilderness Podcast down! Or, rather, it’s going to get them down, but they’re going to try and joke about it to make it better. But in the process, Joe, Chris, Alec, Tony, and Ben Remington of Wild Xtra touch on some really important stuff.
*How on earth could a team this good get swept?
*Do the Wild need to fire Mike Yeo?
*How can the Wild take that next step?
*Can the Wild find a superstar?
*How much money did Devan Dubnyk lose this series?
You can find Ben Remington’s work at Wild Xtra, and make sure to head over there for offseason Wild coverage (after stopping by Hockey Wilderness prior, of course). The season is over, but the Hockey Wilderness Podcast need sleeps! We’ll be back throughout the summer, too.

Thanks for a terrific season, and we’ll see you soon!

Get ready, Minnesota, it’s playoff time! After several days of brutal technical difficulties, we’ve got our newest episode up! Today, Tony and Joe joined by Tim Cron of St. Louis Game Time and the Beyond Checkerdome podcast to break down the Minnesota Wild-St. Louis Blues series in progress.
Topics we discuss today:
*Tim’s perspective on former Blue Chris Stewart.
*Jori Lehtera and Paul Stastny’s first season in St. Louis.
*Previewing the Blues, forwards, defense, goaltending. Does this team have a weakness?
*Rivalries- the great ones in both team’s history, and why these teams don’t have one yet.
*What will either team need to do to beat each other?
*Nate Prosser = Nick Punto. Discuss.
*Why the Wild’s Centers are the key to this series.
*Why the 2015 Wild are the 2009 Blues.
*Does anyone on the Wild or Blues deserve a trophy?
*Do Minnesotans embrace hometown players T.J. Oshie and David Backes?
*David Backes: Monster or Giant Dork?
*Witnessing a Triple Overtime in person
*With Las Vegas getting a team, could Kansas City be next?
*Actually, we talk about a lot of Vegas stuff.
You can catch Tim’s (@CrossCheckRaise on Twitter) work at St. Louis Game Time, which is a very cool group, as well as the Beyond Checkerdome Podcast (@BYNDCheckerdome).

This episode of the Hockey Wilderness Podcast is about as MEATY as you can get. First, we break down the Wild’s Trade Deadline Deals. What are we to think of the end of the Zack Phillips era? Is Jordan Leopold going to help or hurt the Wild? What were the Wild thinking with the Chris Stewart Trade? Ger sits down with Tony to figure it out.
After that interlude, we get to the main show, where Alec Schmidt (writer of Hockey Wilderness’ “Playing the System”) lends his experience and perspective to the show. Along with Tony, Aaron, and Joe, the gang looks at the recent Avalanche game and the ensuing antics, the recent Sean Bergenheim deal, and breaking down a lot of young players for the Wild. We cap it all off by answering your questions in the mailbag.
You can find Alec on Twitter (@Schmitty_16), and read his work on Hockey Wilderness under the “Playing the System” section. Friend of the show Adam Stafki of Along The Boards stops by for a chat on the suddenly surging Wild. The Wild are 5-0 since our last episode, and they’ve gone from “lost season” to “playoff contenders” in just two short weeks. How did they do this? It’s got a lot to do with Devan Dubnyk, whom we talk about at length, as well as the state of the playoff race. From then on, we talk about Matt Cooke’s injury and it’s impact, Marco Scandella’s minutes, the joy of Left Shark, and Darcy Kuemper’s rehab stint in Iowa.

In this episode of the Hockey Wildeness Podcast, Tony Dean of Hockey Buzz returns to join Aaron and Tony for a discussion of the Wild (finally) getting a Stadium Series Game. Yay outdoor hockey!
The discussion then turns to the All-Star Game, and Ryan Suter’s participation in the festivities. We have a lot to say about it despite the fact that Aaron was the only one who actually watched it.
Again, we have another week of As the Goalies Turn, as Devan Dubnyk showed some cracks in his armor after starting the second night of a back-to-back. We also talk about Darcy Kuemper getting sent back down to Iowa.
And finally, Aaron and the two Tonys try to come together to find some middle ground on Mikko Koivu.
Make sure to find Tony’s work on HockeyBuzz, as well s his appearances every Wednesday on the Jeff Dubay Show. You can follow the podcast on Twitter @HWildernessCast. Make sure to leave a voicemail with your questions or comments on the Hot Take Line (218-348-1002).
